MANILA, Philippines — Motorists who plan to traverse the Subic Clark Tarlac Expressway (SCTex) may expect an increase in toll starting June 14 as the Toll Regulatory Board approved the P0.51 per kilometer toll hike.

Starting June 14 at 12:01 a.m., Class 1 vehicles (ordinary cars) traveling from Mabalacat City, Pampanga (Mabiga Interchange) to Tarlac will pay an additional P20 under the new toll matrix.

Meanwhile, Class 2 vehicles (buses and small commercial trucks) will pay an additional P40 from Mabalacat to Tarlac, while Class 3 vehicles (large trucks and trailers) will pay P60 more.

As for those traveling between Mabalacat and Tipo in Subic, motorists having Class 1 vehicles can expect a P32 increase, while those having Class 2 and 3 vehicles will pay an additional P66 and P98 fee, respectively.

The NLEx Corporation, the operator of SCTex, said that the petition for the toll adjustments was filed by the  Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) in 2011. (Editor: Jonathan P. Vicente)
