TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol –– Two persons were killed while 27 others were injured when a jeepney collided with a firetruck and a private car here on Thursday afternoon.
The investigation showed that the jeepney, which was bound for Loay town, swerved to the opposite lane before crashing into an oncoming firetruck of Baclayon town and a private car along the National Highway in Barangay Mansasa about 3 p.m.
The jeepney hit the waiting shed before it fell into the cliff.
Two died and at least 27 jeepney passengers were hurt, according to Mark Sidney Galia, chief of Tarsier 117 (Telephone and Radio System Integrated Emergency Response), a part of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
The youngest injured passenger was a one-year-old who suffered an injury in the head.
The two fatalities have yet to be identified, according to Anthony Damalerio, provincial disaster risk, and reduction officer.
They were brought to the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital. (Editor: Leti Z. Boniol)
