Makabayan to Comelec: Release certificates of proclamation for winning party-lists

/ 03:53 PM June 04, 2019

MANILA, Philippines — Members of the House Makabayan bloc on Tuesday asked the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to release the certificates of proclamation of winning party-lists weeks after the proclamation last May 22.

“We are actually questioning bakit hindi pa lumalabas ‘yung certificate of proclamation specifically ng mga party-lists…” Gabriela Rep. Arlene Brosas said in a press conference, noting that certificates were usually given right after the proclamation.

“Ano’ng meron sa kanila? Baka meron silang niluluto sa loob so dapat malaman natin,” she added.

“Ang panawagan natin ilabas na ang certificate of proclamation para mawala ‘yung agam-agam. Alam naman natin maraming incumbent party-list ang di makabalik … at marami pang gusto pumasok,” he said.

INQUIRER.net has reached Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez for comment but he has yet to respond as of posting time.
