2 suspected drug pushers killed in Laguna, Batangas
SAN PEDRO CITY — Two suspected illegal pushers were killed in separate buy-bust operations in Laguna and Batangas.
In Rosario, Batangas, Nicky Corachea was killed in a shootout with the police around 2 a.m. Tuesday in Barangay Maligaya.
A report from the Calabarzon police office said Corachea drew and fired a gun that prompted the police to shoot back.
Corachea was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
His still unidentified male companion had escaped during the commotion.
In Lumban, Laguna, Ferdie Aquino was also killed in a police shootout around 10 p.m. Monday in Barangay Bagong Silang.
Col. Eleazar Matta, Laguna police director, said Aquino fired his .45-caliber gun upon realizing it was a buy-bust operation.
The police recovered a sachet of suspected shabu (crystal meth) from each suspect. (Editor: Leti Z. Boniol)
