CA panel OKs Tijam’s appointment as JBC member

MANILA, Philippines – A panel of the powerful Commission on Appointments on Tuesday recommended the ad interim appointment of retired Supreme Court associate justice Noel Tijam as a member of the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC).

Tijam will represent the academe in the JBC until July 9, 2022.

Members of the CA’s committee on justice and Judicial and Bar Council were unanimous in endorsing Tijam’s confirmation.

The panel’s recommendation will still be transmitted to the CA plenary for approval. (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
