Hot, humid school start in Metro Manila
MANILA, Philippines — Students heading back to schools in Palawan province, the Visayas and Mindanao on Monday should brace for rainshowers, while students in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon should be ready with fans and face towels as humid weather will persist on their first day of classes, according to the weather bureau.
In its 4 p.m. weather bulletin on Sunday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the intertropical convergence zone would cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Palawan and provinces in the Visayas and Mindanao on Monday.
Localized thunderstorms may bring rainfall in the afternoon and evening in the rest of the country, the weather bureau said.
Weather specialist Ana Clauren said hot and humid weather was expected in Metro Manila, with temperatures soaring up to 36°C.
