June 2 to 30: Sangyaw Festival
Monthlong celebration of the cultural and religious heritage of Tacloban City in Leyte province.
The city also pays tribute to its patron Santo Niño.
Sangyaw means to announce or herald a news in Waray, the local dialect.
Activities include a sports clinic, cultural night, performing arts night, antibullying show and festival of lights.

“Saulog” means thanksgiving in Cebuano.
There will be a job fair, agritourism trade fair, folk dance competition and thanksgiving Mass.
