P1M worth of ‘shabu’ seized in Taguig City
MANILA, Philippines — Authorities confiscated on Friday around P1 million worth of “shabu” or crystal meth in Taguig City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
An initial report from PDEA said the illegal drugs were confiscated in a buy-bust operation around 11:50 a.m. at a parking lot of a mall along DBP Avenue, FTI complex.
Arrested in the operation were a certain Ashary Ampaso Mangondaya and Hapida Abdul Sultan, who allegedly yielded 150 grams of shabu in the operation.
The operation was a joint effort of the PDEA Special Enforcement Service, Regional Office in the National Capital Region Southern District Office, Regional Offices in Calabarzon and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, and the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Taguig City Police.
Cases in violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are being readied against the suspects, PDEA said. (Editor: Julie Espinosa)
