Cop gunned down in Palawan

CITY OF CALAPAN -– A police officer was shot dead on Friday morning in Aborlan town in Palawan province.

Lt. Col. Socrates Faltado, Mimaropa police information officer, said Police Senior Master Sergeant Nelzahib Aizo, who was assigned at the Aborlan municipal police station, was walking in front of his house in Barangay Plaridel at 6:20 a.m. when he was shot several times by an unidentified gunman.


Aizo was dead on the spot.

The perpetrator fled southward heading towards the town of Narra.


Police are now on “manhunt operations and all municipal police stations were directed to conduct immediate checkpoint, chokepoint, and intel monitoring,” said Faltado. (Editor: Leti Z. Boniol)
