Trash to be shipped back to Canada Thursday, says Guevarra

MANILA, Philippines – Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra on Wednesday confirmed that the Canadian trash will be shipped back to Canada on Thursday.

Guevarra, who was named caretaker of the executive department while the President is in Japan, said the cost of reshipment from Manila to Vancouver estimated at P10-million would be shouldered by the Canadian government.

“The container vans will be loaded on vessels owned by three shipping companies,” said Guevarra.

The shipping companies, according to Guevarra are Maersk, Zim Integrated Shipping Services and France-based CMA-CGM.
