Village councilor shot dead in Calapan

CITY OF CALAPAN –- A village councilor here was shot dead on Tuesday night.

Lt. Col. Socrates Faltado, information officer of the Mimaropa police, said an unidentified gunman shot Jairus Del Mundo, 42, several times in Barangay Mahal Na Pangalan around 9:45 p.m.

He was brought to the Sta. Maria Village Hospital but attending physician Dr. Geronimo Santos declared him dead on arrival.

The gunman fled to an unknown direction but police have installed checkpoints and intelligence monitoring to arrest him.
