The yellow Labrador retriever sat by the National World War II Memorial, which carried the name of the late U.S. President’s son, George W. Bush, for the photo posted on the dog’s Instagram account yesterday, May 27.
The service dog’s account shared a quote about Memorial Day from the late U.S. President: “Each of the patriots whom we remember on this day was first a beloved son or daughter, a brother or sister, or a spouse, friend, and neighbor.”
“Always thinking of my best friend & the bravest military in the world who made the ultimate sacrifice while defending our country for our freedoms,” the dog’s account added.
Sully received the Paws of Courage award from the American Kennel Club on April 20, 2019, for his service to his best friend.
