Police confirms recovery of P218-M worth of cocaine in Sorsogon waters

MANILA, Philippines — Police confirmed on Tuesday that the items recovered in the waters of Barangay Bagacay in Gubat, Sorsogon are 39 kilograms of cocaine worth around P218.4 million.

According to the Bicol Region Police, the cocaine stored in nine small boxes and three large boxes were recovered on Monday at about 12 noon by three fishermen as they were fishing in the area.

Personnel of the Gubat Municipal Police Station then proceeded to the area and found the boxes loaded in a motorized banca.

Police said the boxes were then turned over to the Sorsogon Crime Laboratory for testing and confirmation.   (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
