May 26 to 29: Pasayahan sa Lucena
A festival at Lucena City in Quezon province featuring a day of street merrymaking.
The festival was originally meant to help change the image of Quezon as a sanctuary of communist rebels and promote the city as another must-see tourist destination.
Other activities include a talent show, Flores de Mayo, cooking show and a float competition.
May 30: La Virgen Milagrosa Festival
Article continues after this advertisementLast day of the monthlong religious festival at Laoag City in Ilocos Norte province that pays homage to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Article continues after this advertisementLa Virgen Milagrosa de Badoc Church was proclaimed a minor basilica in February. A fluvial parade will be held to close the festival.
May 30 to June 1: Sarangani Bay Festival
One of the biggest festivals in Mindanao celebrated along the white sand beaches of Glan town in Sarangani province.
Also called SarBay, the festival was launched in 2006 to promote the protection and preservation of Sarangani Bay, which is a protected seascape.
