PNP chief names 3 senior officials as possible successor
MANILA, Philippines – Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Oscar Albayalde names three police officials as his possible successor.
“I think we have the same list naman as Gen. Bato Dela Rosa. Sila naman ang medyo senior at sila ang next in line besides kay General Eleazar who is class 87 pero ang performance niya [Eleazar] he will do good also the same as Cascolan at saka si General Gamboa,” Albayalde said in an ambush interview in Camp Crame on Wednesday.
Albayalde was referring to National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, Deputy Director Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa, PNP operations chief and Lt. Gen. Camilo Pancratius Cascolan, PNP Directorial Staff chief.
Former PNP chief Ronald Dela Rosa, in a recent TV interview, said he will endorse Eleazar, Gamboa and Cascolan as the next PNP chief.
“Good luck sa kanilang tatlo. I think they all have credentials. They all deserve to be the next chief PNP kahit sino man sa kanila,” Albayalde said.
Albayalde will retire in November. (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
