MANILA, Philippines — With only five certificates of canvass (COCs) remaining to be tallied, re-electionist Senators Cynthia Villar and Grace Poe continued to lead the senatorial race, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) official count showed Sunday night.
According to the latest partial official count of Comelec, Villar maintained her lead with 24,757,642 votes. Poe was behind her with 21,563,558 votes during the midterm elections.
As of 7:20 p.m., the Comelec, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers, had so far canvassed 97 percent of COCs — or a 162 of the 167 COCs — in the national elections.
Most of those in the Magic 12 are administration-backed candidates.
No one from the opposition managed to secure a spot in the winning circle.

- Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa: 18,639,583
- Sonny Angara: 17,786,740
- Lito Lapid: 16,587,742
- Imee Marcos: 15,362,702
- Francis Tolentino: 15, 196,397
- Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III: 14,395,957
- Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr.: 14,279,625
- Nancy Binay: 14,065,071
Sen. JV Ejercito was at 13th spot with 13,983,153 votes, while opposition candidate Bam Aquino placed 14th with 13,895,154 votes.
Sunday’s ranking was the same as Saturday’s in the Comelec partial official count.

Meanwhile, the partial unofficial tally of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) transparency server showed that votes from 86,319 clustered precincts nationwide had already been transmitted.
According to PPCRV, that number is equivalent to 98.24 percent of total clustered precincts nationwide.
Comelec expects to finish the canvassing by Monday and proclaim the winners either on Tuesday or on Wednesday.
