Ping: Video on pre-shaded ballots not a cause for concern for now
Sen. Panfilo Lacson on Friday said the videos and photos circulating in the internet that showed alleged massive cheating in last Monday’s midterm elections through the use of pre-shaded ballots should not be a cause for concern—for now, at least.
“Unless authenticated, I wouldn’t stress myself worrying about an online post,” Lacson told the Inquirer in a text message.
Lacson earlier said there was a need for the Senate to conduct an inquiry into the failure of the Commission on Elections to prevent the documented technical glitches and other problems in the voting process that voters and even election officials experienced on election day.
Sen. Aquilino Pimentel III, chair of the Senate committee on electoral reforms and people’s participation, set the joint investigation of the Senate and the House of Representatives on June 4.
The videos of several women allegedly engaged in pre-shading the ballots that were fed into the vote-counting machines in Lanao del Norte province was first shared by Kabataan party list. —MARLON RAMOS
