Lim tows Wizards to victory
THE PC GILMORE Wizards notched their second straight win after they got past the Cobra Energy Drink, 74-64, thanks to consecutive three-pointers from Carmelo Lim and Mark Cagoco, in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup, yesterday at the Ynares Arena in Pasig City.
Those treys capped an 11-0 run that broke a 53-all count and effectively put away the Iron Men, who battled the Wizards to six deadlocks and six lead changes before melting down in the stretch.
More importantly, their second win in four days provided some ray of hope for the Wizards, who believed they still have a chance at crashing into the quarterfinals.
To accomplish their goal, they have to sweep their remaining assignments. PC Gilmore winds up the eliminations round with games against DUB Unlimited, Blackwater and Boracay Rum.
AJ Mandani tallied 17 points and Mark Sarangay had 16 rebounds for the Wizards, who outscored the Iron Men, 21-11, in the last 4:34 minutes of the match. Correspondent Jonas Panerio
