MANILA, Philippines — Portions of major roads in Metro Manila, particularly Edsa and the C-5 Road, will be closed to motorists from Friday night until Monday morning to make way for repairs and reblockings.
In an advisory, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday said the following areas will be closed to vehicular traffic from 11 p.m. Friday (May 17) until 5 a.m. Monday (May 20):
Southbound:
- Edsa going to Edsa-Aurora Blvd. Tunnel (2nd lane from the MRT Line)
Northbound:
- Edsa 50 meters after Magallanes MRT to KM 29 (outer lane) and from KM 27+019 to KM 26+921 (outer lane)
- Edsa in front of the Baliwag Transit station to New York St. (1st and 2nd lane from the sidewalk)
- C-5 road in front of SM Aura and Market-Market
The MMDA advised motorists to avoid the affected areas and use alternate routes instead.
The agency, however, assured that all affected roads will be fully passable by 5 a.m. on Monday. (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
