Sotto: May polls ‘credible’ despite glitches
MANILA, Philippines — Despite the reported glitches, Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III believes that the just-concluded May 13 elections were credible.
Sotto noted that the percentage of the reported glitches during and after the elections was just small but was only highlighted on social media and the mainstream media.
“But then again, in general, kung tutuusin, I think the elections are credible,” he said at the Kapihan sa Senado on Thursday.
“Ang pinakamadali dyan, kung merong mga nagdududa, i-presenta nila yung dahilan kung bakit sila nagdududa…present the evidence,” he added.
The Senate leader, nevertheless, backed a congressional inquiry to, once and for all, answer all questions raised against the credibility and integrity of the polls.
