Fernando widens lead in race for Bulacan governor

CITY OF MALOLOS — Vice Governor Daniel Fernando is poised to win as Bulacan governor as his lead over his closest rival widened.

Based on the partial and unofficial transmitted votes reaching the Provincial Board of Canvassers here, Fernando has garnered 696,624 votes while City of Malolos Mayor Christian Natividad garnered 400,576 votes.

Fernando, a movie actor, is running against seven opponents in the gubernatorial race.

Outgoing Bulacan Gov. Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado is expected to make a landslide victory in the vice gubernatorial race as he obtained 800,452 votes while his closest rival Councilor’s League President Josef Andrew Mendoza garnered 420,650 votes.
