LEGAZPI CITY – Two earthquakes jolted parts of Albay on Tuesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Eduardo Laguerta, chief of Phivolcs in Legazpi, said at 8:17 a.m., a magnitude 3 quake was traced at 14 kilometers north of Rapu-Rapu town while a 3.8 quake was felt at 9:36 a.m. at 15 kilometers in the same area.
The quake was felt at intensity 3 in Legazpi City.
“In quakes like these, the first one might be the foreshock while the second is the main shock. We are still checking on it,” he said.
Laguerta said the quake, which was tectonic in origin, posed no threat of a tsunami. (Editor: Leti Boniol)
