Explosion rocks Cotabato City on Election Day
MANILA, Philippines — A loud explosion rocked a vacant lot in Barangay RH 10 in Cotabato City on Election Day, police said.
The initial report from the Cotabato City Police revealed that the explosion occurred at around 10 p.m. No one was hurt.
Police have immediately responded and secured the area after receiving the report.
Police Captain Jemar Delos Santos, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), told INQUIRER.net in a text message that authorities are still investigating the type of explosive used in the incident.
He said the area is far from any polling precinct.
Police have also yet to identify the perpetrators of the explosion. (Editor: Eden Estopace)
