MANILA, Philippines – The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting  (PPCRV) on Monday said it is in need of some 400 to 600 volunteers to help encode election returns from the May 13 mid-term elections.

“In the next 14 days, kailangan po natin ng mas maraming tulong pa sa ating mga kababayan, open po ito for all ages sa youth pati sa ating mga seniors as long as you’re available,” PPCRV Youth Ambassador and sports personality Chris Tiu said.

Tiu said those who are interested can send an email to [email protected] or send them a message through the PPCRV’s official Facebook page.

“As long as you can read and know how to use a computer, encode please share your time para sa bayan natin,” Tiu added.

PPCRV board member Paolo Domondon said that after the polls close by 6 p.m., the PPCRV is mandated to conduct the official parallel count, being  the Commission on Election’s (Comelec) citizen’s arm.

“So makikita po natin ang data sa transparency server, at we are encouraging our PPCRV volunteers to  secure the fourth copy of our election return  para po ipadala dito sa courier sa command center,” Domondon said.

“And we will do a manual validation para makita po natin kung nagtutugma yung [election return] sa transparency server na makikita natin,” the board member added.  (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
