Magnitude 3.6 quake shakes Ilocos Norte
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 3.6 earthquake shook a town in Ilocos Norte on Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The earthquake’s epicenter was recorded at 14 kilometers northeast of Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte.
The tremor struck at 4:12 p.m. and had a depth of 2 kilometers. No damage to property and aftershocks were reported.
Meanwhile, a magnitude 4.2 earthquake jolted a municipality in Davao Occidental earlier at 11:59 a.m. The earthquake’s epicenter was recorded at 24 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos; the tremblor had a depth of 125 kilometers.
No damage to property and aftershocks were reported, said Phivolcs. Both quakes were of tectonic origin. (Editor: Abe Cerojano)
