Board of Canvassers for midterm polls set to convene at 3 p.m.

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will convene as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) at 3 p.m. Monday to mark the start of canvassing of votes for the midterm polls.

Comelec commissioner Luie Guia however said that the session may be adjourned as no poll result is expected to be transmitted yet since voting period is until 6 p.m.

“It is the formal opening of the national canvassing pero ang mangyayari diyan mag-a-adjourn kami kasi wala pang darating dahil wala pang transmission e,” he told reporters in an interview.

By the time that the session would adjourn, the board of canvassers will resume its session on Tuesday, Guia said.

Guia also said that Comelec Commissioners will have its meeting regarding election matters while the NBOC is adjourned.
