Cops nab 6 for violating Comelec liquor ban in 2 Batangas villages

LIPA CITY—Police arrested six persons for violating the elections liquor ban in two separate villages in Ibaan town in Batangas province Monday morning, police said.

Ibaan police chief Major Roland Aniwasal said at 12:37 a.m., Zaldy Gipit, Arnold Camila and Jose Gipit almost met an accident with another vehicle, which caused a commotion at the town center.

Ibaan police responded and found out that the suspects were under the influence of alcohol. Police brought them to the police station for filing of charges.

At 1:25 a.m., also on Monday, police arrested three more caught while in a drinking spree in Barangay Malainin.
