Villar: Public trust, not wealth, a factor in topping survey
MANILA, Philippines — Wealth had nothing to do with topping a recent senatorial survey, reelectionist Senator Cynthia Villar said.
“No. If you look at the campaign ako nga yung pinaka-low profile ang campaign. I made sure na low profile ang campaign ko kasi nahihiya ako mag high profile,” Villar told reporters after voting at the Las Piñas Science High School on Monday.
“Talaga namang simple ako. I am proud to say na ako ay simpleng tao and I live simply,” she added.
Villar topped the latest Pulse Asia pre-election survey with a voter preference rate of 55.9 percent.
The senator also said public trust matters in her campaign and not her wealth.
“‘Di ba maganda rin na gusto ka ng tao? ‘Di naman yung yaman mo o impluwensiya dapat gusto ka ng tao,” Villar said.
