Orderly elections seen in Central Visayas – police

Intensified drive vs measles, dengue fails to make a dent in C. Visayas

CEBU CITY, Philippines — The police expect orderly elections today in Central Visayas composed of Cebu, Siquijor, Negros Oriental and Bohol.

At least 57 people were arrested for liquor ban violation since Saturday. Of the number, 51 were from Cebu City while the rest were from Cebu province.

In Negros Oriental, eight people were caught violating the liquor ban but managed to evade arrest during police operations.

As of May 11, the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas confiscated five loose firearms: three from Cebu province and two from Negros Oriental. At least 11 firearms were surrendered to the Police in Negros Oriental. (Editor: Cenon B. Bibe Jr.)
