Marlene Aguilar pays contempt fine for Jason Ivler’s surgery to proceed
MANILA, Philippines—As a condition imposed by a Quezon City court for the surgery of road rage murder suspect Jason Ivler, a P30,000 fine was paid by his mother after she was cited in contempt for challenging a judge to a fist fight five months ago.
A compliance submitted by Ivler’s lawyers showed that the defense has paid P30,000, representing the fine imposed on Marlene Aguilar by Judge Bayani Vargas of Regional Trial Court Branch 219.
The payment of the contempt fine is just one of several conditions specified by the new judge handling the murder case against Ivler, who is asking court permission to undergo surgery to reverse his colostomy during the holidays.
The defense said it has paid P17,325 for medical bills at the Quirino Memorial Medical Center where Ivler goes for check-ups.
Likewise, the defense said it has deposited a P500,000 check to the court as required by Judge Luisito Cortez of RTC Branch 84 to ensure Ivler’s payment of his medical expenses.
The court required the payment of such dues before it issues an order granting the accused permission to be confined at the QMMC for the reversal of his colostomy so that he would defecate normally again.
