Owner of plane in Parañaque crash still in Philippines, says lawyer

MANILA, Philippines—The owner of the light cargo plane that crashed into a Parañaque City shanty neighborhood, leaving 14 people and part of a school heavily damaged last Saturday, is still in the country, his lawyer said.

Jeffrey John Zarate, lawyer for Fidel Hembrador, the alleged owner of the eight-seater Beechcraft Queen Air that crashed in Barangay (village) Don Bosco, arrived at the office of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines Thursday to say that his client, a former commercial pilot, was still in the country and ready to cooperate with the investigation by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Inquiry Board to find out the reason for the crash.
