MANILA, Philippines — Former Vice President and Makati City first district Congressional candidate Jejomar C. Binay said that being House speaker is far from reality.

“I think you know that it is a decision of Malacañang,” Binay told reporters before the miting de avance of his daughter, incumbent Makati City Mayor Abigail “Abby” Binay in Makati Friday night.

He, however, voiced confidence that he will emerge victorious in the midterm elections.

Binay admitted that the hardest part of his campaign was the rivalry between his children, former Makati mayor Junjun Binay and the incumbent mayor.

“This, I have to admit yung nangyari sa mga anak ko siyempre pareho kong mahal na mahal,” Binay said. (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
