Imee slams distribution of ‘fake’ sample ballots
MANILA, Philippines – Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos on Friday described as pathetic the distribution of “fake” sample ballots, bearing only her name and no other senatorial candidate.
“Napaka-pathetic ng taktika ng ating mga kalaban para lang ako ay siraan sa mga kapwa ko senatorial candidates sa ilalim ng Hugpong ng Pagbabago (My political rivals’ tactic to discredit me before my fellow Hugpong ng Pagbabago Senate candidates is pathetic),” Marcos said in a statement on Friday.
Marcos blamed critics for spreading the said sample ballots, which were distributed in Ilocos Norte and Mindanao.
“My detractors have been distributing fake sample ballots containing only my name in the list of senatorial candidates. They are trying to create the impression that I am campaigning for a single vote only in my favor,” Marcos said.
“This is clearly a demolition job by those who do not want me to win at all cost,” she said. (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
