MANILA, Philippines — Two persons were arrested at the Matnog port in Sorsogon province on Thursday morning for carrying 10 sacks and 14 containers of a suspected highly explosive substance.
In a police report, the suspects were identified as Byrne Gajisan, 40; and Joemar Quimno, 24.
Police said the suspects were arrested at about 6:30 a.m. for possessing 10 sacks of suspected ammonium nitrate and 14 containers of liquid processed ammonium nitrate without pertinent documents to transport from the Firearm and Explosive Division (FED) and Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA).
The suspects and the seized items were brought to the Matnog Municipal Police Station, the report said. /jpv
