‘Bikoy’ should face NBI, substantiate claims — NBI

MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) wants the man claiming to be “Bikoy” to appear before its office to substantiate allegations in the controversial “Ang Totoong Narcolist” videos.

“Bikoy” is the hooded narrator in the videos that linked President Rodrigo Duterte’s relatives and allies in the illegal drug trade.

On Monday, a man who identified himself as Peter Joemel Advincula surfaced in a press conference at the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in Pasig City, and claimed to be “Bikoy.”

“Person of interest pa rin siya (Advincula) dahil ‘yun sa mga revelation niya na sya yung author nung mga episodes, at the same time, he participated dun sa mga upload,” Victor Lorenzo, chief of NBI’s Cybercrime Division, said in an interview over dzMM on Wednesday.

“Magagamit namin yun sakaling mag-file kami ng charges sa kanya. Kaya lang mas interesado din kami, as part of the due process, sana mag-appear siya samin para naman matanong din namin kung ano ang actual participation niya and if he could substantiate yung mga allegations niya,” Lorenzo added.

Based on initial investigation, Lorenzo said the NBI found that Advincula has multiple pending cases in court.

“Initially nag-conduct na nga kami ng record checking sa kanya, lumabas nga na medyo madami-daming warrant, madami siyang cases involving illegal recruitment and estafa,” the NBI official said.

“’Yung iba na-verify na namin na pending pa sa court, yung iba may mga na-dismiss, may mga tumatawag nga sa min na willing silang mag-file din ng complaint for estafa against him,” Lorenzo further said. /cbb
