MANILA, Philippines — Residents of Metro Manila and those living in other parts of Luzon can expect to experience heavy rainshowers on Tuesday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 1:25 p.m., the state weather bureau said rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Metro Manila, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bulacan, and Batangas in the next two hours.

Meanwhile, Pagasa added that parts of Rizal (Tanay, Rodriguez, Antipolo); Morong, Bataan; Tarlac; Cavite; Laguna and Quezon are currently experiencing heavy rainshowers, which may persist for two hours and may even affect nearby areas.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards, which include flashfloods and landslides,” Pagasa said. /ee
