Drug suspect killed in Caloocan buy-bust

MANILA, Philippines — A suspected drug personality was killed in a buy-bust operation launched by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Caloocan City Police Office on Tuesday.


An initial police report identified the suspect as alias Totoy, about 34 to 35 years old, who wore a dark t-shirt and brown shorts during the reported encounter with the police at around 1:30 a.m.

Police said that upon dealing with police officers, the suspect sensed that he was transacting with authorities and allegedly fired at the using a caliber .38 revolver.


The suspect did not hit any police officer, but he died on the spot when police retaliated.

Police recovered the suspect’s firearm and other pieces of evidence. /cbb
