Tour bus, 10-wheeler truck collide in Atimonan, Quezon
MANILA, Philippines — A tour bus and a ten-wheeler truck were involved in a road accident in Barangay Santa Catalina in Atimonan, Quezon on Monday night.
In a report, the Atimonan Municipal Police Station (MPS) said the Bicol-bound tour bus collided with a ten-wheeler truck in the descending part of Diversion Road in Atimonan.
Initial investigation showed that the tour bus driver was trying to overtake several vehicles when it collided head-on into an approaching truck from the opposite direction of the road.
The driver of the tour bus was identified as Maximo Leoriego while the driver of the truck and his helper are still unidentified.
As of posting time rescuers are still attempting to remove the driver and the helper of the truck from the vehicle.
The passengers of the tour bus who sustained injuries were brought to Doña Martha Hospital and Nuestra Señora Hospital to receive medical treatment.
Authorities are still investigating the incident. /ee
