MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Justice (DOJ) could be trying to cover up the drug allegations against the Duterte family exposed in the “Bikoy” videos, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said on Saturday.
“San ka nakakita ng cyberlibel lang pero buong DOJ, NBI [National Bureau of Investigation] ang nagkukumahog? Talagang pinagtatakpan nila ito,” the senator told AM radio station DWIZ.
This was after the NBI arrested Rodel Jayme, creator of metrobalita.net, which published links to Bikoy videos on Thursday. The NBI discovered that he was “registrant and the administrator” of the website.
The NBI also filed an inciting to sedition complaint against Jayme, wherein he will be subjected to inquest proceeding before the National Prosecution Service (NPS) on Friday.

Trillanes also questioned DOJ’s leadership in the investigation into the Bikoy videos, saying cyberlibel cases are only minor cases.
“Kasi kahapon, DOJ secretary ang namumuno sa kaso na minor lang — Inciting to sedition at cyberlibel. Municipal Trial Court dapat yan,” he said.
The senator added that Bikoy’s accusation against the Duterte family could be true based on the actions of the government to investigate Bikoy case.
“By virtue of their actions alone, medyo nagkakaroon ng credibility ang Bikoy allegations,” he said.
Malacañang immediately brushed aside the accusations saying these are mere black propaganda against the Duterte family. /jpv
