Palace tells Rodel Jayme: Name those behind ‘Bikoy’ videos

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Friday urged Rodel Jayme, the administrator and registrant of the website metrobalita.net that published the controversial “Ang Totoong Narcolist” videos, to name the persons behind him.

“Dapat sabihin niya para kasi kung inosente naman siya dun sa pag upload o kaya inutusan lang siya, dapat sabihin niya kung sino yung mga nasa likod. Otherwise, siya lang ang mapoprosecute dun,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo told reporters in an interview in Malacañang.

(He should name the persons behind the video if he is innocent or if he was only following orders or he may be prosecuted.)

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said Jayme was arrested after forensic examination on his desktop computer, mobile phones, and ISP billing statements showed that he was the “registrant and the administrator” of the website metrobalita.net.

Guevarra said a complaint on inciting to sedition had been filed against Jayme.

Asked about President Rodrigo Duterte’s reaction to Jayme’s arrest, Panelo said he has not talked to the President.

“I haven’t talked to him, because he is [in] Davao. He’s busy with a lot of paperwork. He is reading a lot [of papers], signing papers,” he said.

A series of videos recently circulated on the internet alleging that the first family is involved in the illegal drug trade.

In the videos, a hooded narrator named “Bikoy” revealed the alleged drug link of the first family. /ee
