Grab offering discount to voters on election day
MANILA, Philippines—Grab Philippines will be offering a discount to voters in Metro Manila and Metro Cebu who will use the ride-hailing app to go to their polling precincts on May 13.
On election day, voters may avail a P50 discount when they go to the precincts using the GrabShare discount code ONEDESTINATION.
This was part of Grab’s intitiative to help the Commission on Elections (Comelec) curb voter disenfranchisement and misinformation in preparation for the May midterm elections.
Starting Friday, select Grab drivers will hand out non-partisan voter education materials to their riders, Grab Philippines President Brian Cu said.
Cu added that Grab cars will also bare stickers to help disseminate vital information to the voters and help create an atmosphere of discussion.
The bigger part of what we do in the promo with GrabShare is to take away added friction come election day,” Cu said during the campaign launch at the Comelec main office in Manila. /jpv
