LOOK: Creative rallyists push for end to contractualization, vote-buying

MANILA, Philippines — Some rallyists displayed creative banners and other items to denounce contractualization and vote-buying during a protest at the Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila that marked this year’s Labor Day.

Ludynela Hamor of National Confederation of Labor (NCL) brought a banner which demanded to stop vote-buying as election day nears.

“‘Wag ipagbili ang boto dahil ang boto ay napakahalaga para maging boses din ang mga manggagawa,” Hamor told INQUIRER.net.

Joy Limpangon, a worker of an agricultural company sold cloth bags bearing a tagline that calls for support for her fellow workers who are demanding regularization.

“Patuloy kami sa aming laban patuloy kami nananawagan na ma-regular kami,” she told INQUIRER.net.

Limpangon said she has been a contractual employee in the company for the past 14 years.

Meanwhile, Kat Leuch, a supporter of the Labor Win Coalition, wore a shirt which denounces the Duterte administration.

The shirt bears the words “Duterte Echosera sa Manggagawa, Beshie ng Kapitalista.”
