MANILA, Philippines — A labor leader  on Wednesday slammed  the administration and the Senate for giving priority to “capitalists” rather than the labor sector.

According to Bukluran ng  Mangagawang Pilipino head Leody de Guzman said that instead of solving the concerns of laborers, the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte is favoring the rich.

De Guzman cited Executive Order 51 which tackles issues on contractualization and specifically prohibitis illegal contracting and subcontracting of workers.

According to De Guzman, the signing of the said executive order was the last blow of punishment inflicted by the administration on workers.

De Guzman also slammed senators, saying that laws crafted by government for the labor groups only made their lives miserable due to the negative effects of the laws.

He added that some senators are capitalists themselves.

With this, De Guzman urged the public to vote for Labor Win in the coming election in order to have a proper debate at the Senate on issues affecting workers.

De Guzman is part of the five senatorial candidates of Labor Win in the coming May polls.
