Shopping mall magnate’s daughter seeks help in locating 9 execs facing estafa
CEBU CITY — The daughter of a shopping mall magnate here has appealed to the public to help them look for nine officials of a stock brokerage firm who were facing charges for syndicated estafa.
In a statement sent to the Inquirer, Valerie Gaisano-Sebastian of the Gaisano Capital Group also asked the accused to surrender and face the cases filed against them.
“I appeal to the public to report to the National Bureau of Investigation or the Philippine National Police any information that will lead to the arrest of any of the above-mentioned accused,” said Sebastian in a statement prepared by their lawyer, Edgar Gica.
Sebastian, daughter of shopping mall magnate Edmund “Eddie” Gaisano Sr, was the complainant of the syndicated estafa for the alleged unauthorized trading of more than P24 million investment.
Charged were Sebastian’s brother-in-law Derwin Wong, president of DW Capital Incorporated and its nine executives who were all facing arrest warrants.
They included Chinese nationals Wong Chung Yin aka David Wong, and Diane Ngo Wong, dual Chinese and Davidson Ngo Wong, who was a Filipino passport holder.

In her complaint, Sebastian claimed DW Capital had committed “unauthorized, fraudulent and deceitful acts”… by allegedly selling the complainant’s shares of stocks without her knowledge and consent.
The missing shares were discovered in July 2017. The proceeds of the unauthorized sale of shares were allegedly diverted to Wong and most of his family, who are his co-accused and executives of DWCI.
Derwin is married to Eda Gaisano with three children although the two have been living separately since 2017, said Gica.
He was arrested last April 11 in a condominium in Makati City and was brought to Cebu City Jail last April 17.
Derwin refused to issue a statement when asked for comment.
But he had a message to his in-laws: “I want them to have mercy on me. If they want to speak to me, I will ask them to have mercy.”
He said he hoped that he could speak to his wife Eda and their three children whom he had not seen for two years.
