Parts of Roxas Blvd. closed to traffic on Friday for Aliwan Fiesta

Parts of Roxas Blvd. closed to traffic on Friday for 'Aliwan Fiesta'

MANILA, Philippines — To make way for the annual Aliwan Fiesta, parts of Roxas Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic on Friday afternoon onwards.

In an advisory, the Manila Police District (MPD) announced that the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak Drive to P. Ocampo, Manila, will be closed to motorists from 4 p.m. onwards.

Motorists are advised to take the following routes:

FEATURED STORIES
  1. All vehicles coming from Bonifacio Drive should turn left to P. Burgos Avenue to point of destination
  2. All vehicles coming from the three bridges (Jones, McArthur, Quezon) should go straight to Taft Avenue to point of destination
  3. All vehicles traveling westbound lane of P. Burgos Avenue should turn right to Bonifacio Drive or make a U-turn to the east bound lane of P. Burgos Avenue to point of destination
  4. All vehicles traveling westbound lane of TM Kalaw Street, going to Roxas Boulevard, should turn left to MH del Pilar Street, to point of destination
  5. All vehicles traveling westbound lane of U.N Avenue, going to Roxas Boulevard, should turn left to MH del Pilar Street, or utilize Roxas Boulevard service road to point of destination
  6. All vehicles traveling westbound lane of Pres. Quirino Avenue, intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard, should turn left to Adriatico Street to point of destination
  7. All vehicles traveling westbound lane of P. Ocampo Street, intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard, should turn left to F. B. Harrison to point of destination.

The actual closing and opening of affected roads will be based on actual traffic condition, the MPD said.

Aliwan Fiesta is the annual festival of street-dancing held within the vicinity of the Cultural  Center of the Philippines (CCP) Complex. Organized by the Manila Broadcasting Company, Star City and CCP, the festival brings together key street-dance contingents from all over the Philippines. /jpv
