MANILA, Philippines — Quezon City Engineer Joselito Cabungcal led a team on Tuesday on an inspection schools for possible damage caused by a magnitude 6.1 earthquake that rocked several parts of Luzon just a day before.
Among the schools inspected were Payatas B Elementary School, Bagong Silangan Elementary School, and Justice Cecilia Muñoz-Palma High School in Molave.
No casualties or major damage to property and infrastructure in Quezon City were reported by the local disaster unit.
In a memorandum on Monday, Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) action officer Karl Michael Marasigan ordered the members of the Disaster Action Team and all 142 barangay DRRMCs in Quezon City to be on standby for possible offshoot incidents due to the quake.
All Quezon City Hall buildings were cleared for reentry by the QCDRRMO and its Rapid Damage and Needs Analysis Team.
