Rama to check on loyalty of dep’t heads, consultants

/ 08:55 AM June 01, 2011

CEBU City Mayor Michael Rama will be conducting a loyalty check on his consultants and department heads following the evaluation and assessment done on the different boards and commission under his office.

Rama said he has to be certain that he can trust the people around him.

“Tanan karon (all now are) under review and scrutiny. I have to look at my back, check who’s in front of me, my left and my right. Otherwise, I am sleeping with my enemies or they are sleeping with the enemies,” said Rama.

When asked if the issue on the Mahiga settlers triggered his move, Rama said, “It’s not Mahiga Creek, naabot nga ikiha, ha? Kabaw gyud ko nga kinsay mokiha nako. I have to watch my back.”

Francisco “Bimbo” Fernandez, who was supposedly hired as a City Hall consultant under the local housing board, filed an administrative and legal case against Rama for his alleged disregard for the Mahiga settlers affected by the clearing operations.
