1 kg of suspected illegal drugs washed ashore in Quezon province

MANILA, Philippines — A package containing a kilogram of suspected illegal drugs was recovered along the seashore of Burdeos, Quezon province on the morning of Black Saturday.

In an initial report from Police Regional Office 4A, a certain Raizel Ponce Anog was walking along the coastline at Sitio Tingtingon, Barangay Cabungalan, in Burdeos, Quezon when he discovered a black rubber containing one plastic pack of white powdery substance, suspected to be cocaine or shabu, at 9:30 a.m.

Anog surrendered the illegal drugs to authorities at the Burdeos Municipal Police Station. The package will be turned over to the Quezon Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for laboratory examination.

Philippine National Police spokesperson Police Col. Bernard Banac told INQUIRER.net that the police are still confirming whether the drugs were shabu or cocaine. /jpv
