MANILA, Philippines — More than 46,000 passengers left various seaports in the country going to their respective provinces from the evening of Good Friday until early Black Saturday.
According to the data of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), a total of 46,120 went through all the seaports across the country starting 6 p.m. of Friday until 6 a.m. of Saturday.
Out of the said number, 30,439 of the passengers departed the seaports on the night of Black Friday while the remaining 15,681 left on midnight of Black Saturday.
The passenger monitoring being conducted by the PCG was part of the Department of Transportation’s Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Semana Santa 2019.
The PCG continues to monitor the situation at all seaports in order to ensure the safety of passengers this Holy Week. /jpv
