Top squads, individuals of PDBC 2nd conference feted

THE top team and individual performers of the Power Dealer Basketball Club (PDBC) 2011 Second Conference basketball tournament were feted last Saturday by club officers led by founder Arnold de Asis.

The awarding ceremony was preceded by an opening program attended by the officers and members of the club with Mark T. Laborte and Odimar O. Hernandez as emcees.

Team winners received cash and trophies led by 2nd runner-up Team Red backed by Uy Network; 1st runner-up Team White backed by Blackwater and champion Team Yellow supported by Royale Power Dream.

Individual winners also received cash and medals including members of the Mythical Five: Canjo Echavez, Jojo Logronio, Weljohn Alarde, Florentino Sayson and Arnold de Asis.

Other awardees were Rolly Maboles (Best Defensive Player), Jonahs Mangyao (Sportsmanship Award) and Arnold de Asis who took the coveted MVP award.

The election of club president immediately followed the awards rites with Florentino Sayson elected to the post. He will head the upcoming Summer League basketball tournament in 2012. /Correspondent Dale Rosal
